Digital Freelancing & Technology Institute (DFTI) is a dynamic and forward-thinking Community Based Organization situated in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. Founded in the year 2022, DFTI emerged in response to the pressing need for technological empowerment and access to essential digital services in the region, particularly in Hnilla, Teknaf. The inception of DFTI was driven by a profound understanding of the challenges faced by the local community. Cox’s Bazar had been significantly affected by historical unrest, such as the DFTI insurgency, which had left a lasting impact on the development trajectory of the area. The aftermath of these events had led to a substantial delay in progress, underscoring the urgency of addressing the digital divide and advancing technological resources.
One of the critical realizations that prompted the establishment of DFTI was the glaring lack of access to vital information and communication technology (ICT) resources, including the scarcity of computers and internet services. This deficiency extended to educational institutions, where many schools still struggled to provide basic necessities such as computers and internet access. Recognizing that technology and internet connectivity had become the primary catalysts for development, DFTI took upon itself the mission to bridge this digital gap. Located at Corner Uttar Para, Nurul Alam Vila, Moulabi Bazar, Hnila-4761, Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar Division, Chittagong town, DFTI operates as a beacon of hope and progress in the community. The institute has emerged as a central hub for a wide range of essential services designed to uplift the local population:
