“Digital Freelancing and Technology Institute” abbreviated as DFTI, is an educational institution that provides training in the field of education, information, and communication technology. It was established in January 2022 by Mr. Alam Mohammad Rasal, a Bangladeshi entrepreneur and founder. The institute is primarily based in Cox’s Bazar district, known for its scenic longest sea beach in the world. Its main objective is to reduce unemployment, enhance skills and development in the technological aspect, improve English language proficiency, promote e-commerce and freelancing to propel the country forward, and contribute to the vision of Digital Bangladesh by 2041, with the utmost cooperation and support from the Government of Bangladesh.
The idea of establishing this institute came to Mr. Alam Mohammad Russell as an IT innovation in 2022. The neighboring upazila (sub-district) of Teknaf, which is constantly plagued by drug addiction, has negatively affected the potential youth and student society, leading to their continuous destruction. To combat such unemployment and the destructive image of the youth, Mr. Alam Mohammad Russell, a humanitarian worker and IT entrepreneur, took the initiative to establish an institute himself. Naming the institution as “Digital Freelancing and Technology Institute – DFTI,” he aimed to create a skilled and career-oriented generation by providing professional and vocational training through the establishment of a computer lab on its own campus, fostering freelancing hubs, e-commerce business training, diploma programs in various courses, and national-level certification.
With the guidance of seven skilled management members and several trained instructors, the institution is dedicated to empowering the youth by equipping them with the necessary skills in freelancing, enhancing their professional capabilities, and providing them with diplomas in various courses. Additionally, it aims to issue government certifications to contribute to the national development by creating a skilled workforce.
